Why is it important to support American companies and American manufacturing? Here’s why we think it’s important:

Factories populate China’s southern provinces. Children are sold to work as virtual slave laborers. The buzz in the media lately has been contaminated pet food, toothpaste, and now, lead-leaden toys. Chinese companies have been taken to task several times in recent years regarding the safety of their products and manufacturing techniques.

More reasons to ‘Buy American’:

Roger Simmermaker (http://www.HowToBuyAmerican.com), has done his homework. His 508-page book lists thousands of American products and where to find them. Simmermaker makes his arguments on facts as well as patriotism. He has come to realize ‘the importance of ownership”. For example, he says “you can buy a Toyota that is made in America, and buy a Chevrolet that is made in America.” While both benefit American workers, “the taxes General Motors, as an American company, pays will go to the U.S. Treasury. The taxes Toyota pays go to the Japanese Treasury.”

Simmermaker says by supporting companies that “employ Chinese by the millions, sending money to people who don’t pay taxes to America, or contribute to our Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid – this is why it’s so important to buy American-made products from American-owned companies.”
